AS YOU THINK IN YOUR HEART …
As the snow falls and I sit this morning in front of the fire place, I feel a deep stirring. One of considering my thought life, and the trajectory my thoughts take me, each day.
I don’t have the words yet. What I do have, I will share with you:
“For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” Proverb 23:7 (NKJV)
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23 (NASB)
“True identity takes away conflict, measurement, competition, self-protection and self-promotion.” Jaime Winship
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” 2 Corinthians 2:14 (Amp)
“If your thoughts are not leading you in triumph, Jesus is not leading you.” Wendy Backlund
“Emotions do not validate truth; they validate what we believe.” Wendy Backlund
“How often do we forget the astounding truth that we worship the God who speaks?” Jamie Winship
“The journey in discovering your true identity in the kingdom of God is an eternal journey. There is no end to the depths of who God made you to be.” Jamie Winship
“Lord, where in my life do I feel like I’m not beloved by you? Where in my life am I not trusting you? Where in my life do I think I’m not good enough for you? Where in my life am I listening to the wrong voice?” Jamie Winship
“When you are in an intimate relationship with someone, it is a dialogue, not just a monologue.” Donna Winship
“God is better than we could ever imagine Him to be. It is just true. He has an answer for every pain, failure, disappointment, tragedy, disaster, trauma, injustice, and fear. Not a fake answer, not a blanket statement, not a cheesy one liner — He has something real. We just have to let Him show us. He paid dearly for the right to be present in the midst of our greatest tragedy and pain. He paid for the right to release His light into the very center of our deepest darkness. He paid with His Son’s blood, the highest price that could be paid. Wounds are an inevitable part of life on the the earth, but He paid for the right to heal every one of them. I know the burden of pain and trauma. I have seen it. But I know that God’s goodness outweighs the sum of all suffering. I have seen it. His goodness is mysterious, and it accomplishes the impossible. I can write about it, pastors can teach about it, mentors can coach us toward it, but only God can introduce us to His profound good.” Blake K. Healy, “Profound Good, See God Through the Lens of His Love,” 2019.
“Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:4,5 (BSB)
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 (BSB)
