Sometimes I know beforehand what I will write about. Other times, my topic is unclear until I sit down in front of the keyboard. Today is one of those days. . . . As I ponder recent life events, I am mentally sifting through encounters, details; looking for memories that may spark a topic to share.
We are in the midst of 100+ degree days, mid June. Last night we had a surprise hail storm, with golf ball and a few tennis ball size hail stones. The windshield on my 4-runner was a casualty of said storm. We did salvage our potted plants.
My nephew will soon be turning one year old; and sharing in all of his “firsts” is a joy beyond description. The treasures of sharing life with my brothers, my sister-in-law, my parents and this precious little boy bring a gentle nourishment and encouragement amidst the adventures and challenges of daily life.
Our physical therapy practice is growing, and we are gearing up to open our second location. We have a tremendous team. I am privileged to work with each of my colleagues, from the compassionate and creative admin team, to the sales and marketing go-getter, and the diversified and highly skilled clinical group; each one bringing their unique gifts and talents for the benefit of those we serve.
It has been since February 2020 that I have taken a vacation. So, I am looking forward to mid-July, as I plan some time away in the heart of Colorado. Rafting, hiking, visiting the hot springs, e-biking are all on the loosely held itinerary. Mostly, just drawn to the landscape views, sounds of the river, wild flowers and crisp morning air.
In and through this life threads a steady flow of peace and gratitude as I watch and experience the kindness of our Heavenly Father attending to every detail. From providing the real estate broker we needed to walk us through the 2nd site acquisition, the healthy relationships I enjoy with my family, the traveling PTs we’ve worked with when there were no applications for our staff PT position, as well as the artisans that have come along side to help me with house renovation projects, to the precious friends I get to walk through life with. . . . the nuances and creativity of how He provides for me brings a smile to my face and comfort / reassurance to my heart.
It is these experiences that I focus my thoughts upon when the hard moments come; when circumstances are heartbreaking and I don’t understand. He remains Good, Faithful, Loving, and Sovereign.
One moment, one day, one season at a time…….. life abundant.
